Overview
Pediatric head and neck surgery requires careful attention to growth, development, breathing, hearing, swallowing, and speech. Op. Dr. Erkan Kulduk uses a child-focused evaluation to determine whether observation, medical treatment, or surgery is appropriate.
Who May Benefit?
Evaluation may be needed for neck masses, congenital lesions, airway or swallowing problems, recurrent infections, enlarged lymph nodes, or conditions affecting a child's hearing, sleep, speech, and development.
The Treatment Process
The child and family receive age-appropriate explanations before treatment. When surgery is indicated, the plan is coordinated with the hospital and anaesthesia team, with special attention to safety and preserving healthy development.
Recovery
Recovery depends on the procedure and the child's age. Families receive clear instructions about wound care, nutrition, pain control, activity, and warning signs, followed by planned clinical review.
Important Note
A child's symptoms should always be evaluated in context. Early assessment helps avoid unnecessary procedures and supports timely treatment when needed.
